Treasures from the Land Of Laundry

Beyond the pictured collection of bobby pins, safety pins, cap rings, buttons, coins, and sea glass, I fondly recall washed and dried dollar bills, earrings, rocks, cardboard, Kleenex, and various shades of lip balm.

I remember one lip balm in particular. It was Burt's Bees brand. It was red. It melted in the dryer.

It was mine. I'd rather not talk about it.

I recently had a customer's jumper that actually DYED my dryer purple. PURPLE. I had to scrub to get most of it out.

...you're not alone, Celia...

I love this!!! At least once I have found empty bullet casings in our dryer. And I have accidently washed and dried that same burts bees chaptstick. It stained a few things, but the overall damage wasn't too bad.

I LOVE THE CAP RINGS!!! I can't tell you how many times I have pulled those things out of the dryer!Tissues, matchbox cars, bullet shells, BBs, crayons, once a brownie that my then-3-year-old-third-youngest-brother had saved in his pocket! Yeah. It was historic. My Mom once washed my Dad's pajamas in a load of red bath towels, turned 'em pink. Maybe we should just scrub laundry in the river with a stick and a bar of soap,..... (:
